Sharjah: Delhi Private School (DPS) maintained their winning streak by inflicting a 101-run defeat on Bahrain in the Nissan Cup Under-11 match held at their home ground in Sharjah yesterday.
Earlier, the DPS team had beaten Sharjah Cricket Council by 81 runs.
Against Bahrain, the DPS team dominated in all departments.
Batting first, DPS batsmen made the best of their home conditions to put up a total of 166 runs for the loss of just two wickets.
For DPS, Shekhar (64) struck a fluent unbeaten knock, while stylish opener Yash Shodhan (36) gave able support.
In reply, Bahrain were restricted to 65 all out in 18.1 overs.
Shikar (17) was the lone batsman to cross into double figures. Shekhar, after his batting heroics, also shone with the ball by taking two wickets for two runs. He was later named Man of the Match.
In the under-17 game, Durham posted their first win of the tournament by defeating Insportz Combined XI by 67 runs at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
The win was a morale booster for the team from the United Kingdom after their 5-run defeat against Sharjah Cricket Council in the opening match of the tournament.
In-form Kyle Davis (87) hit his second successive half century as Durham posted a mammoth score of 224 for the loss of seven wickets in 30 overs.
Opener Ben Rain (44) and Mathew Samson (29) also contributed with the bat. In reply, Insportz lost their direction and were all out for 157 runs in 28.5 overs.
