Dubai : West Indies crashed to their second successive defeat in the five-match One-Day series against Australia at the Adelaide Oval yesterday.

Australian pacer Doug Bollinger bowled out West Indies for 170 runs with a spell of 4 for 28 to extend his team's victory run.

His team had earlier trounced Pakistan 5-0 in a One-Day series. Having recorded two emphatic victories over West Indies, it looks like Australia is on its way for another clean sweep in this series.

Australia had won the first One-Dayer by 131 runs in Melbourne and in this match they outclassed West Indies by eight wickets with 141 balls to spare.

West Indies got off to a disastrous start with their star batsman and captain Chris Gayle being trapped leg before by Bollinger to the first ball of the match. One-drop batsman Travis Dowlin got caught behind off Clint McKay for 2 while Bollinger trapped opener Runako Morton leg before for 4. Bollinger also had Lendl Simmons caught behind for 1 and the cream of West Indies batsmen were back in the pavilion for just 16 runs. Narsingh Deonarine and Denesh Ramadin put on 56 runs for the fifth wicket. Mitchell Johnson provided the breakthrough trapping Deonarine leg before for 23. Shane Watson picked his only wicket of the match having Ramadin caught behind for 30.

In a late fightback, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Smith took the score to 113. Bollinger once again struck to dismiss Pollard for 32. Smith went on to hit an elegant 43 to take the total to 170 runs.

Australia chased the meagre total comfortably. Watson and Shaun Marsh put on 51 runs before Marsh got bowled by Smith for 27.

Watson hit 53 off 50 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes while skipper Ricky Ponting cracked an unbeaten 57 off 55 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Michael Clarke too chipped in with an unbeaten 27 and put on an unbeaten 72-run partnership for the third wicket.
