Women in Blue captain Mithali Raj and Bollywood actress Alaya F debut on ramp

Indian women cricket team's ODI skipper Mithali Raj and Bollywood actress Alaya Furniturewala made their debut on the ramp on Saturday at the Lakme Fashion Week.

Mithali walked the ramp for designer Payal Singhal in association with Corcal Bone and Beauty while Alaya turned showstopper for fashion label SVA by designer duo Sonam and Paras Modi.

Speaking about her experience on the ramp, Mithali said: "It's a very different experience. I'm quite excited. I had one rehearsal to get the feel. I had done some charity shows. So I had a little bit of experience. But I'm not a pro in this. But I hope that experience helped."

For Alaya, the experience was "super exciting and nerve-wracking as well".

"I love the designers I walked for. I think they're wonderful people and wonderful designers and absolutely loved what I was wearing. I felt like a princess in it. And so it was very exciting, supported by such wonderful people,"

Was she nervous? "Yeah, naturally. I was trying not to say it but I was. But I hope I did a good job."
