Drive with care and save lives

Road accidents have become so regular it seems people don't bother to look twice anymore. In all parts of the country, traffic accidents are being reported daily.

Speeding, fog, and recklessness are the main causes. Some would add the poor attitude of drivers towards other drivers as well as lack of vehicle maintenance as sources of tragedies on the roads.

The latest tragic accident took place in Ras Al Khaimah two days ago when a three-member family, including a four-year-old girl, died as their car's tyre burst, sending the vehicle crashing into a truck.

The heart-breaking story should send a warning message to all of us to focus on the roads, drive sensibly and always ensure our vehicles are well-maintained.

It doesn't matter if your journey is taking too long or if you are in a rush to get somewhere. Unfortunately, time and again, we are reminded that the alternative to sensible driving leads to a very tragic ending.
