UAE: Traveling to Dubai Airport? Check the extended Dubai Metro hours

Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced an extension of Dubai Metro's operating hours from December 28 to 30, 2024. During this period, the Metro will operate for longer hours between Centrepoint and GGICO stations to ensure safe and efficient transport for passengers travelling to and from Dubai International Airport.

Extended timings for Centrepoint and GGICO stations

• December 28 Saturday – 5am to 2am (the next day)

• December 29 Sunday – 8am to 2am (the next day)

• December 30 Monday – 5am to 2am (the next day)

Dubai Metro timings for New Year’s Eve

To accommodate New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Dubai Metro and Tram will operate continuously for 43 hours:

• Dubai Metro: From 5am on December 31 until midnight on January 1, 2025.

• Dubai Tram: From 6am on December 31 until 1am on January 2, 2025.

Check your nol card balance

If you are planning to use the Dubai Metro during New Year’s Eve, ensure your nol card has sufficient balance. This can be done online via the S’hail or nol app, or on the RTA website (rta.ae).

• Minimum balance required for a silver nol card: Dh15 (round trip).

• Minimum balance required for a gold nol card: Dh30 (round trip).
