The ‘Accident-Free Day’ lets UAE drivers remove 4 black points by pledging safe driving.
Dubai: As the UAE prepares to welcome a new school year, traffic around school campuses reaches its peak. To enhance road safety on this busy day, the UAE Ministry of Interior (MOI) is urging all drivers to commit to safe driving practices.
As part of the 'Accident-Free Day' campaign, the public is invited to sign a pledge through an online portal, committing to safe driving. By doing so, drivers can automatically have four black points removed from their licences for free.
Those who register and comply with the safety guidelines before August 25 will receive a deduction of four traffic points from their records. This deduction will be applied electronically on September 15, 2025, without requiring a visit to service centres.
Visit the MOI website at moi.gov.ae and sign in using your UAE Pass.
Navigate to Smart Services on the left menu, then click on 'Initiative Of A Day Without Accidents'.
Agree to the campaign commitments, which include safe driving practices such as maintaining a safe distance, yielding to pedestrians, buckling up, respecting speed limits, avoiding distracted driving, and giving way to emergency vehicles.
Click 'I agree', and you will receive a participation certificate within minutes via email. By adhering to the campaign rules and driving safely, four black points will be removed from your licence two weeks after August 26.
A certificate of participation will be sent to your registered email (linked with your UAE Pass). If the initiative’s terms and conditions are followed, the black points will be cancelled on 15/09/2025.
Black points, or traffic points, are penalties imposed on a driver’s licence for certain traffic violations. While some offences, such as minor speeding or incorrect parking, result in fines only, more serious violations may lead to black points being assigned.
A driver can accumulate between four and 24 black points. If a violation occurs after reaching 24 black points, the case is referred to UAE courts, where the licence may be confiscated or suspended.
