UAE Pass allows residents to log in, sign documents, and request official papers digitally
Dubai: More than 11 million people across the UAE now rely on the UAE Pass app, the country’s first secure national digital identity system. Designed for citizens, residents, and even visitors, UAE Pass allows users to access thousands of online services with a single login, eliminating the need to create multiple accounts for different government platforms.
But UAE Pass is more than just a login tool. It offers a range of features that simplify many administrative processes, from signing documents to requesting official records — all done digitally, securely, and often without the need for in-person visits.
UAE Pass serves as a unified digital identity, linking users to various government, semi-government, and private sector services. Whether you need to renew your driving licence, access banking services, or request official documents, UAE Pass allows you to do so directly from your smartphone.
With just one verified UAE Pass account, you can:
Log into multiple websites, apps and services using your phone.
Digitally sign and verify documents without printing or scanning.
Securely request and share digital versions of your official documents, including your Emirates ID, driving licence, and residency permits.
Powered by blockchain technology, UAE Pass ensures your digital transactions are traceable, secure, and tamper-proof.
Single login access
UAE Pass allows you to log in to thousands of government and private sector services across the UAE with a single username and password, streamlining administrative tasks that would otherwise require separate logins for each entity.
Digital document signing
With UAE Pass, you can digitally sign documents with legal validity. Simply download a document, apply your digital signature directly through the UAE Pass app or its self-care portal, and share it as needed. You can also verify the authenticity of any digitally signed documents using the app’s verification feature.
Requesting and sharing official documents
Instead of physically visiting service centres, UAE Pass lets you request digital copies of official documents from various government bodies. The process is secure and efficient, significantly reducing paperwork and saving time.
Facial recognition for quick verification
Using facial recognition technology, UAE Pass verifies your identity in minutes. Previously, this process required an in-person visit to a government service centre, but facial ID verification has made registration almost entirely remote and far quicker.
Integration with private and semi-government sectors
UAE Pass is not limited to government services. Many private institutions, including banks, telecom providers, healthcare providers, and money exchange companies, have integrated UAE Pass into their customer portals, making it an essential tool for everyday services in the UAE.
Registering for UAE Pass is simple and can be completed entirely through your smartphone. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Download the UAE Pass app
First, download the UAE Pass app, available on both Apple’s App Store and Google Play for Android devices. Once installed, open the app and tap ‘Create Account.’
2. Agree to terms and conditions
Carefully read through the terms and conditions, check the box confirming your agreement, and proceed by tapping ‘Continue.’
3. Scan your Emirates ID or passport
The app will prompt you to scan your Emirates ID or passport (for visitors). Allow the app to access your camera and scan both the front and back of the card.
4. Verify personal details
Your Emirates ID information will automatically populate fields including your full name, Emirates ID number, date of birth, nationality, gender, and ID expiry date. Review these details carefully before confirming.
5. Verify mobile number and email
Enter your mobile number and email address. You’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) on both; verify each to continue.
6. Set a security PIN
Create a four-digit PIN that will be used to authorise logins and transactions within the app.
7. Complete face verification
Allow the app to conduct facial verification by tapping ‘I’m ready’. The app will scan your face and match it against government records to confirm your identity.
8. Set your password
Finally, create a password for your UAE Pass account. Once complete, your account will be fully active.
With your UAE Pass account set up, you gain instant access to over 5,000 services, from paying government fees and registering businesses, to filing complaints or sponsoring family visas — all from your device.
The UAE government’s drive towards digitisation is reshaping how residents interact with services. UAE Pass not only simplifies access to public services but also ensures security, efficiency, and convenience. With widespread integration across both public and private sectors, UAE Pass is rapidly becoming a vital tool for daily life in the UAE.
