Dubai: On Monday, Parkin introduced its new mobile app, which allows motorists in Dubai to conveniently pay for public parking spaces. In addition to standard payment options, the app offers several useful features, including the ability to pay parking fines, dispute charges, and even request refunds. However, one feature stands out the most—the ‘PayLater’ option.

According to Parkin, this feature applies to multistorey parking facilities and gives motorists up to 48 hours after leaving the car park to settle their parking fees. This is a significant convenience for drivers who may not have immediate access to payment methods upon exiting.

Who can use the ‘PayLater’ feature?

Parkin has confirmed that both registered and non-registered users can access the ‘PayLater’ service.

  • Registered users: These are motorists who have created an online account with Parkin and have registered their vehicle details. They also have access to an Autopay feature, which ensures parking fees are deducted automatically upon exiting.

  • Non-registered users: Even if a motorist has not created an account, they can still pay later by manually completing the process online. Below is a step-by-step guide on how it works.

How does ‘PayLater’ work?

Multistorey car parks in Dubai operate using a ticketless system, which eliminates the need for physical parking tickets. Instead, cameras installed at the entrance automatically capture the vehicle’s licence plate number when it enters.

Once the driver exits the car park, they can make the payment using the Parkin website by following these steps:

  • Visit parkin.ae

  • On the homepage, select the ‘PayLater’ service

  • Enter your vehicle’s licence plate details

  • View the parking ticket registered to your vehicle

  • Proceed to payment and settle the amount using a credit or debit card

Avoiding parking fines

It is essential to pay the parking fee within 48 hours of exiting the car park. Failure to do so will result in a Dh1,000 fine. To avoid unnecessary penalties, motorists should ensure they use the PayLater service on time and make the payment promptly.

What is the autopay feature?

For those who frequently use Parkin-operated car parks, the Autopay feature provides a seamless, automatic payment experience.

How it works: Registered users can add funds to their Parkin Wallet, which is an in-app digital wallet designed for parking payments.

Once the Autopay feature is enabled, parking charges are automatically deducted from the wallet whenever the registered vehicle exits a multistorey car park. This feature eliminates the need to remember to pay manually and prevents the risk of incurring late payment fines. For more details, click here.
