Dubai: Salik’s variable toll rates officially came into effect today, January 31, with charges now reaching Dh6 during peak hours, reverting to Dh4 during off-peak times, and remaining free late at night and in the early morning. According to Salik, the higher peak-hour toll is aimed at improving traffic flow during the busiest times of the day.

How to Salik transaction history

Managing your Salik toll expenses in Dubai is simple with the RTA Dubai app, available on Apple, Android, and Huawei devices. Follow these steps to view your Salik transaction history:

  1. Open the RTA Dubai app and navigate to the ‘Services’ section.

  2. Tap on ‘Salik’ and select ‘View Salik Transactions’.

  3. Click on ‘Link Salik Account’ and enter your mobile number, Salik account number, or vehicle plate number.

  4. Once your details are verified, you can view a breakdown of your Salik road trips.

  5. Select a specific date range to generate a monthly statement of your spending.

  6. You can save the statement in a file format for future reference.

Alternative methods to check Salik spending

If you prefer not to use the RTA Dubai app, you can check your Salik expenses through:

  • The Salik website (salik.ae) by searching for ‘Apply for a Salik Monthly Account Statement’.

  • The Salik contact centre at 800 72545, where customer service representatives can assist you in retrieving your transaction details.

Understanding Salik’s variable toll rates

Dubai has implemented a variable toll pricing system across all Salik gates. However, there are no changes to the existing charging method for the following gates:

  • Al Safa North and South

  • Al Mamzar North and South

If you pass through these gates in the same direction within one hour, you will only be charged once, ensuring a fair toll system for frequent commuters.

During Ramadan, the variable pricing schedule will be adjusted to accommodate changes in travel patterns
