New peak-hour charges have arrived – here’s how to track your Salik expenses
Dubai: Salik’s variable toll rates officially came into effect today, January 31, with charges now reaching Dh6 during peak hours, reverting to Dh4 during off-peak times, and remaining free late at night and in the early morning. According to Salik, the higher peak-hour toll is aimed at improving traffic flow during the busiest times of the day.
With the toll rate increase, keeping track of your spending is essential to managing your Salik account and budgeting for recharges. For a clear breakdown of your toll expenses, you can access your full Salik transaction history online. Here’s how:
Managing your Salik toll expenses in Dubai is simple with the RTA Dubai app, available on Apple, Android, and Huawei devices. Follow these steps to view your Salik transaction history:
Open the RTA Dubai app and navigate to the ‘Services’ section.
Tap on ‘Salik’ and select ‘View Salik Transactions’.
Click on ‘Link Salik Account’ and enter your mobile number, Salik account number, or vehicle plate number.
Once your details are verified, you can view a breakdown of your Salik road trips.
Select a specific date range to generate a monthly statement of your spending.
You can save the statement in a file format for future reference.
If you prefer not to use the RTA Dubai app, you can check your Salik expenses through:
The Salik website (salik.ae) by searching for ‘Apply for a Salik Monthly Account Statement’.
The Salik contact centre at 800 72545, where customer service representatives can assist you in retrieving your transaction details.
Salik toll gates are positioned at key locations across Dubai’s road network:
Al Barsha
Al Garhoud Bridge
Business Bay Crossing
Al Maktoum Bridge
Al Mamzar South
Al Mamzar North
Al Safa South
Al Safa North
Airport Tunnel
Jebel Ali
Dubai has implemented a variable toll pricing system across all Salik gates. However, there are no changes to the existing charging method for the following gates:
Al Safa North and South
Al Mamzar North and South
If you pass through these gates in the same direction within one hour, you will only be charged once, ensuring a fair toll system for frequent commuters.
