Muscat is the chosen city from the Middle East for India's Oscar-winning music genius A.R. Rahman's Jai Ho world tour.
Rahman, the much sought-after composer who won two Oscars for his score for Slumdog Millionaire, will perform for the fist time in Muscat with his 90-musician ensemble at the Royal Oman Police Stadium on January 21.
Muscat will be the sixth stop on Rahman's tour, and the only one in the GCC. The organisers, Eventful and Ovation, said he will arrive in Muscat after a performance in Sydney. Rahman will perform on a specially-constructed multi-level stage to a crowd of 15,000.
All the original singers from Slumdog Millionaire will perform at the concert, with big names including Hari Haran, Sadhana Sargam and drummer-par-excellence Shiv Mani, confirmed Sathish Nambiar of Eventful at a press conference last week to announce the concert.
