Welcome to the era of the mobile pocket – a wearable knit, a sort-of slim bag, if you will, made especially for an iPhone.

Crafted by fashion brand Issey Miyake and Apple, the iPhone Pocket, out tomorrow (Nov 14) is like a pod that protects your valuable phone. Designed like Issey Miyake’s pleated clothing, it can hold on to any iPhone.

It’s made of a single thread of yarn that’s been 3D knitted into a tall, yet so slim bag that will take your iPhone and any other tiny essentials you happen to have. Think of it like a sweater bag. The short strap design is available in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black; the long strap design is available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.

"The design of iPhone Pocket speaks to the bond between iPhone and its user, while keeping in mind that an Apple product is designed to be universal in aesthetic and versatile in use," the brand's design director Yoshiyuki Miyamae was quoted as saying by Dezeen.

"The simplicity of its design echoes what we practice at Issey Miyake – the idea of leaving things less defined to allow for possibilities and personal interpretation," continued Miyamae.

"Apple and Issey Miyake share a design approach that celebrates craftsmanship, simplicity, and delight," said Apple’s vice president of industrial design Molly Anderson.

"This clever extra pocket exemplifies those ideas and is a natural accompaniment to our products."

It is a limited-edition piece though, so you’ll need to act fast to get your own. (The strap will go on sale tomorrow in at select Apple Store locations and apple.com in France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US.)

The iPhone Pocket in the short strap design will be priced at $149.95(US), and the long strap design at $229.95 (US).
