Kabhi To Hasaye Kabhi To Rulaye

India's two major music labels – Music India and Universal –have come together to create this two – cassette special compilation of Kishore Kumar's songs. The title Kabhi To Hasaye Kabhi To Rulaye is an obvious tribute to the great singer's matchless ability to come up with songs of every possible mood and expression.

The album focuses on varied songs from the '70s, like the wonderfully romantic Raatkali Ik Khwab Mein, Yeh Shaam Mastani and Aise Na Mujhe Tum Dekho as well as the soulfully sentimental Yeh Jeevan Hai and Chingari Koi Bhadke, which represent the golden period of his singing career.

The '60s are represented by tunes such as Phoolon Ke Rang Se and Gaata Rahe Mera Dil. The '80s make their impression through classics such as Jidhar Dekhun, Aisa Kabhi Hua Nahi and Saagar Jaisi Aankhonwali. Overall, the album is a nice tribute to one of the greatest singers in Indian popular music.
