Dubai: Support picked up for tone-deaf Braeden Enzo Manuel in need of a cochlear implant as a Filipino social club launched a massive coin collection campaign on February 26.
Titled ‘Forac Can of Hope … A Dirham for Enzo', the campaign launched by the non-profit Filipino Off Road Auto Club in Dubai distributed 305 out of a targeted 500 cans among friends hoping to collect as many one dirham coins as possible over a month's time.
Rowena Puras, mother of Enzo, 2, said the counting of the coins will be done at Safa Park on March 26. She said she and her husband Wayne Puras had collected Dh71,000 in donations ever since XPRESS featured the need for a cochlear implant for Enzo on January 7.
She said they were hopeful that with more support, the estimated cost of Dh100,000 for the cochlear implant will be covered and Enzo will be able to go ahead with the treatment.
She was thankful to XPRESS and the generosity of UAE residents. For making a donation call 050-283 2122/050-340 1733.
