Thousands perform prayers at Eid Musallahs and mosques to mark 'Feast of the Sacrifice'

Dubai: The mosques and Eid musallahs across the country were packed very early on Friday.

An immense number of Muslim devotees were gathered to offer prayers marking Eid Al Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice, and the end of the annual Haj pilgrimage.

Following the prayers, people joyously exchanged Eid greetings.

Rulers also performed Eid Al Adha prayers, following which they received well-wishers and exchanged Eid greetings with them.

Eid Al Adha translates to “Feast of the Sacrifice”.

An Islamic holiday, Eid Al Adha is observed annually from the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijja, according to the hijri calendar.

The celebration immediately follows Arafat Day, the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
