Reader Pictures of the Day

While taking a walk, Gulf News reader Arnel Santonia captured portrait shots of gentlemen he met near the mosque in Satwa, Dubai. Of the first portrait, he said: “I enjoyed taking this photograph, because when I approached the man and asked to take a picture, he smiled and posed. I could make out he had an expression of true happiness – a blessing, at his age.”

Santonia’s second photograph was also of an elderly man. He said: “Content faces among the elderly inspire us, and give us strength and determination to pursue our own dreams.” The reader is an accountant supervisor, based in Dubai.
