Umm Al Quwain/Ajman: Two cars were destroyed in a fire that broke out in the old area of Umm Al Quwain early on Monday.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, UAQ Civil Defence said.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after the fire was reported at 6.50am.
The fire started in one car and spread to an adjacent car that was parked near it, said Colonel Hassan Bin Sarm, Director-General of UAQ Civil Defence.
“Rescue teams evacuated the scene and put out the flames, and handed over the case to the competent authorities,” Col Bin Sarm said.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out in a rubbish heap of a factory located in Al Jurf area in Ajman on Monday afternoon.
Ajman Civil Defence officials called on all companies to not dispose of rubbish randomly, or smoke cigarettes in these areas, and to adhere to environment, health and safety regulations, particularly during summer.
