Dubai Customs launches Smart library

Dubai: The Dubai Customs has launched a smart library to promote the culture of reading and research among its community in line with the UAE’s Year of Reading campaign.

Dubbed ‘Reading is Life’, the programme consists of an online library accessible to all book lovers via Dubai Customs’ intranet website. Employees will have the convenience of exploring — at the click of a button — detailed summaries of selected Arabic and international books in many scientific and practical areas.

“The initiative is driven by the directives of our wise leadership to spread knowledge and encourage reading among the members of our community as a daily practice,” Khalil Saqr Bin Gharib, director of Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Customs, said.
