Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Why go? Now in its third year, the ADGP has already proved itself a highlight on the F1 calendar, and if you’ve never been, get ready for the thunderous noise of the cars and the roar of the crowd to hit you before you even approach the circuit. And with plenty going on in and around the Yas Marina Circuit, from DJs, family activities and events – there’s a lot more to this fast-paced weekend than just some of the world’s fastest motors.

  • Head to the F1 Village and Oasis, family-friendly zones where you can meet up with friends and take a break from the trackside thrills. Her you’ll find a kid’s zone, amazing racing simulators, all the merchandise you can afford, plus a nail salon for pit-stop pampering.
  • Immerse yourself in the whole F1 experience, with Speed Week, which will run from November 4-14 at Ferrari World – open from 11am-11pm every day. In addition to the thrills and spills of the park’s rides, you can also enjoy live shows and family entertainment, including awesome free running demos and amazing gymnastic displays. www.Ferrariworldabudhabi.com
  • Racing glam meets stylish chic at Amber Lounge, where celebrities and drivers kickback before and after the race. Buy your tickets, or book a table and enjoy waitress service as you dance under the chandeliers and rub shoulders with the jet set www.Amber-lounge.com
  • Running until November 13, and perfectly complementing the hive of F1 activity in the capital, check out the packed-out calendar of events at Yasalama2011 on the Corniche. Check out The Faming Trees and DJ Bliss as part of Beats On The Beach, along with Wyclef Jean, J Cole and Jay Sean – as well as plenty of other music and entertainment events. www.Yasalam.ae

Pure N'dulgence

Why go? Atlantis’s rebranded Sanctuary comprises three awesome hangout areas – the N’Dulge Arena, Nobu Lounge and N’Dulge Terrace, all offering differing levels of entertainment, every day of the week. Saturday nights are Scene night (great name!), with free admission to the Terrace and Nobu Lounge, where you can round off your weekend in style with beats provided by the resident DJ and some delicious sushi from the world-renowned restaurant. For a party you’ll never forget, Thursday at N’Dulge boasts three themed nights, including La Freaq – a circus-themed evening with incredible live performances; Stereo Sushi, bringing some of the best names in house to our shores, and Basement, which sees the Beirut clubbing institution take over the luxe Arena.

Asian Food Festival

Already a stalwart on the cosmopolitan Singapore and Sydney hotel scenes, the recently opened Park Regis Kris Kin Dubai is bringing some of its signature Singaporean dishes to our shores at its Bur Dubai establishment. The Taste of Singapore festival sees celebrity chef Devagi Sanugam and executive chef Poonsak Sumonratanakul cooking up a south-east Asian storm in the Kris restaurant kitchens, until November 25.

Mad For Chi
With the cooler months finally here, Chi@The Lodge once more comes into its own, proving itself one of the best outdoor clubbing venues in the UAE. And those cheeky Chi chaps have gone and launched the ultimate kickstart-your-weekend-early, with their Wednesday M.A.D night. Boasting a mix of hip hop, dance and R&B, courtesy of DJ Emtree and Flowmaster J, girls who enjoyed all the indulgences that a Tuesday night ladies night has to offer can do it all again on a Wednesday, as there’s free entry and free drinks for chicks all night long.
