Nancy Ajram to gig in UAE, voice Powerpuff Girl

Pop star Nancy Ajram will perform at du Forum on Yas Island on December 2.

Ajram, one the best-selling female artists in Lebanon, is best known for tracks such as Akhasmak Ah and Ah W Nos. In Abu Dhabi, she will perform a selection from her seven albums.

The concert comes on the heels of other big news for the 34-year-old star: she’s collaborating with Cartoon Network on the five-part series The Powerpuff Girls: Power of Four, dubbed in Arabic.

Ajram will voice Bliss, a long-lost teenaged sister of the other three Powerpuff Girls.

It marks the first time that a celebrity has voiced a Cartoon Network character in the Middle East. Ajram said it enabled her “to re-live some of my happy childhood memories in the process. I felt that I was very much in the heart of the action, helping The Powerpuff Girls save the world.”

The series will begin airing on November 9 at 5.30pm.

Tickets to see Ajram at du Forum on December 2 range from Dh250 to Dh1,450, and are available online. Doors open at 8pm. Show starts at 9pm. Entrants must be over the age of five.
