Hot off the rumour mill

Here is a rumour coming from halfway across the globe— from the US and Canada.

The rumour goes that Amisha Patel and Adnan Samy are an item these days.

The source is an insider who was witness to the goings-on at the musical show Kuch Dil Se held in the UK, US and Canada where Adnan and Amisha took part along with Raaghav, Shefali Jariwala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor.

Apparently, Adnan and Amisha would remain glued to each other, disappearing on long drives and dinner dates.

It was only recently that Adnan split from his second wife who comes from a rich family in Dubai.

Adnan was earlier married to Zeba Bhaktiar.

It was after the split with Zeba that Adnan took to eating and began having weight problems.

And now that Adnan is single and ready, Amisha has been persistently encouraging Adnan to lose weight.

So, will the latest development mean that Amisha will do a volte face when it comes to her commitment to Vikram Bhatt?

Meanwhile, an insider said that Riku who is managing the careers of both Adnan and Amisha, isn't too happy with the development since he feels it will affect the careers of both.

Attempts to contact Adnan in London and Amisha in Mumbai proved futile since both refused to come on line.

When contacted, Riku quipped, "I do not want to say anything on the issue. Why don't you ask Amisha and Adnan about this and leave me alone?"

Rekha v. Mallika

Producer Boney Kapoor didn't know what hit him when Rekha refused to accompany him and wife Sridevi on a whirlwind promotional tour of his latest film Bachke Rehna Re Baba which stars Mallika Sherawat and Paresh Rawal, apart from Rekha.

Boney wanted Rekha and Mallika to make joint appearances for five days in several cities in India including Jaipur, Lucknow, Delhi and Pune to garner publicity for his film.

Boney wants to ensure that the film clicks because the box office has been eluding him for a long time.

It may be remembered that though Vijay Galani and Rahul Sugandh had jointly produced Bachke Rehna Re Baba, Boney Kapoor had purchased the film outright.

Insiders say Rekha had sent feelers that she was willing to accompany Boney, director Govind Menon and Sridevi but didn't want Mallika to be part of the troupe.

However, this was hardly music to the ears of Govind Menon, an unabashed admirer of the sexy Sherawat since she acted in his film Khwahish — the movie with the famed 17 lip-locks.

Besides, Boney is a seasoned-enough a producer to know that Mallika is the golden goose and good enough bet for the media to turn up in hordes wherever he goes on a promotional tour.
