Divas shine at VH1 tribute event

We’ve had tributes for Whitney Houston but none as fitting as the one at the VH1 Divas show on Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles — a celebration of the current and classic divas of dance music.

Houston’s legacy lived on through Brandy, Jordin Sparks and Ledisi’s performance of some of her greatest dance hits.

Donna Summer was also honoured with host Adam Lambert, Kelly Rowland and Keri Hilson taking to the stage for an energetic medley.

The prima donna of our generation Miley Cyrus covered Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’ in skintight leather pants and a midriff baring top with plenty of studs and spikes. Her risque performance saw her crowd surf, head bang and grind.

Nothing says diva like an outfit to kill. Ciara channelled her inner goddess in a sequined tailed dress, Kelly Osbourne shone in a white dress accessorized with her purple hair and in the men’s style stakes Adam Lambert stood out with his fur coat and leopard skin shoes. Elisha Cuthbert, Stacy Kiebler and Demi Lovato opted to wear the evergreen, always fashionable — black.
