Tamil thriller ‘Sawaari’ takes viewers on the road

Fasten your seat belts and join first-time director Guhan Senniappan on his film debut with ‘Sawaari.’

Senniappan, who was a finalist on the television show ‘Naalaya Iyakkunar’, has a word of caution, though, when he says that this road trip will not be a smooth ride.

The twists in the tale, out in the UAE this weekend, will keep the audience on the edge of their seats, he says.

‘Sawaari’, written by Senniappan, is about three men — a policeman, a driver and a mentally unstable person — who are travelling together in a car.

“Their lives are different and they have different goals,” says Senniappan, “but something happens enroute”.

Do they make it to their respective destinations? That forms the rest of the story.

Newcomer Benito Franklin plays the policeman and is paired opposite Sanam Shetty. Karthik Yogi plays the driver and Mathivanan plays the last man. The supporting cast includes Karthik Yogi, T M Karthik, ‘Mundasupatti’ Munishkanth, Kavithalaya Krishnan.
