Macau: Intense rehearsals are in full swing as the Bollywood contingent gears up to entertain thousands of fans at this year Zee Cine Awards in the island of Macau.

As far as dedication goes, the award has to go to hosts Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. The pair had apparently been practising their lines for 12 hours.

“We were up till 5am this morning and I need to go back and practise some more,” said Khan on Saturday as he attended the press conference to kick off Zee Cine Awards 2012 at the Venetian Macau.

“As you get older, I think we need to practise a lot more because what came easy earlier doesn’t come off that easy,” he added with his trademark charm and modesty.

Hearthrob Ranbir Kapoor is also not far behind. For his first live performance for an awards ceremony, he’s leaving no stone unturned. He will also be performing a short number with Shahid Kapoor.

“We are out to have some fun and there’s no competition between us here,” said Kapoor.

Scorcher Katrina Kaif took up the stage to perfect her Chikini Chameli act. Massive props included lanterns, human pyramids and colourful backdrops et al will complete her performance.

“Remember, the one thing that an actor should never forget during a live performance is to give it his all - there’s nothing like bringing a smile on people’s faces,” said Khan at the conference.

More than 15,000 fans of Bollywood were expected to descend upon the Cotai Arena at the Venetian Macau for one of Bollywood’s biggest awards nights, held at a different location every year.
