"We’re going deep, baby (deep, deep down), like sleep sugar (so rest upon my chest)…” Am alllll about the fact that East 17 will be playing at McGettigan’s at Bonnington, JLT on Friday night – I wonder if my dinner party guests will notice that I’ve disappeared halfway through the night to get my Steam on? Hmmm, maybe when their custard doesn’t turn up on the table… After the total insanity of last week, when the Scene team were out at some amazing parties and events every night, things have chilled out a bit this week. The Splash calendar launch party on Wednesday night will be a highlight, but unforch I can’t make it as I’m jetting back to freezing cold London for Christmas to see fam and friends. Am totally excited about all the food I’m going to eat, and have already put in orders with my mum for mini sausage rolls, cheesy-pineapple sticks and the like. Fashion Editor, Lucy, thinks I’m stuck in the 70s when it comes to my snack attacks. Well. I am, and I  wouldn’t have it any other way! And finally... on Sunday, we welcome our brand new Deputy Editor, Nyree, and we are very excited about it!

There are only 10 days left till Christmas. And I am never going to finish my shopping in time – agggghhh! So I think I’m going to get the Boutique1.com Christmas fairy to do the remainder of my shopping for me. What’s not to love about being snuggled up on the sofa watching Love Actually for the umpteenth time while ordering gifts online for my besties (oh, and just one or two for myself )? That said, I might have to get out there and find a puffa jacket, giant gold medallion and cycling shorts to wear when I go and see the legendary Salt ‘n’ Pepa play at The Madinat on Tuesday night (because I’m not entirely sure Boutique 1 is big on those kind of garms.) Then, it’s off to one of the most buzzed about parties of the week – the launch of the 2012 Splash calendar. I’ve had a sneaky peek at the shots (which will be revealed exclusively in Scene next week) and they are totally amaze!

After a busy, busy, busy week of all things fun and festive – the Andrews’ tree is now up and shining bright – things are not slowing down this weekend! Tonight it’s time for some chilled out drinks at one of my fave spots in the city, Cabana. I’ll go under the pretence that it’s going to be a chilled poolside night, but we all know I’ll be up dancing quicker than you can say, “To the floor”. On Friday I’m lunching, dah-ling, and going for some delicious daytime eats with the girls. We’re heading to the Festive Fashion Afternoon Tea at Raffles for some designer sandwiches and high-fashion cakes. If it’s not couture I simply won’t be eating it. After my fashion food fest I’m looking forward to seeing The Futureheads DJing at Chi. They’re coming over with Propaganda, which was always one of my fave nights out in London, so I can’t wait to relive the fun in Dubai.
