Kesari 2 star was among first from the film fraternity to express support for Indian Army
Dubai: As India launched a coordinated strike early Tuesday under the codename Operation Sindoor, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was among the first from the film fraternity to express support for the Indian Armed Forces.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal,” aligning himself with the national sentiment following the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead.
The strike, carried out at 1:44 am on May 7, targeted nine terror launch pads across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Akshay Kumar's show of solidarity was echoed by other Bollywood celebrities who praised the armed forces:
Riteish Deshmukh posted, “Jai Hind ki Sena… Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!! #OperationSindoor.”
Madhur Bhandarkar added, “Our prayers are with our forces. One nation, together we stand. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram.”
Nimrat Kaur wrote, “United with our forces. One country. One mission. #JaiHind 🇮🇳 #OperationSindoor.”
Anupam Kher kept it succinct with, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai #OperationSindoor.”
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal shared his support through a silent but poignant post—simply uploading a string of folded hands emojis. Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty shared the official government statement outlining the precision and restraint behind the military action.
