Review: Sensation Dubai lights up the UAE desert

More than 20,000 music fans all dressed in white gathered at the Bab Al Shams Desert Resort in Dubai on Friday night for Sensation, the global dance music event.

The night kicked off with a countdown to fireworks and party poppers introducing the event’s resident DJ, Mr White, who performed on a revolving DJ stage designed like a carousel, complete with white horses.

The desert venue was transformed into a fantasy world with UFO-like structures. Egyptian duo Aly & Fila, as well as Turkish-Dutch DJ Ummet Ozcan, brought in fans from across the GCC, including those from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman. Dutch DJ and producer Afrojack played the best of his early music, taking his fans down memory lane with tracks such as Take Over Control.

Other performers included Yax.X, Sem Thomasson, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano.
