She has been compared to Angelina Jolie and is popular for her role in Transformers talks about the challenges of making a different kind of action movie.

Think Megan Fox and the name brings to mind the image of a beautiful brunette prancing around big cars. Fox's breakout starring role was in Transformers, where she played the love interest of Shia LaBeouf. But we won't be seeing the leggy actress in the third instalment of the popular film.
Fans need not worry because Fox will be seen in a different kind of action film called Jonah Hex. She plays Lilah opposite Josh Brolin, who's a drifter and bounty hunter. His sole connection is with Lilah whose life as a working girl has left her with scars of her own. The film is based on the character in the comic book series published by DC Comics. According to the film's official website, it's an epic action adventure about one man's personal quest for redemption against the battle between good and evil.
Fox says she has enjoyed the experience of making Jonah Hex. "I like working on action films and I like working on movies that are comic book-based, or that have this sort of theme because they're things that I watched or I loved when I was a kid," she says.
Despite having done an action movie in the past, it was still a challenge for Fox to do some of the action scenes. Besides, squeezing into a corset every day couldn't have been easy.
"Actually, there was one gunfight scene which stunts had been choreographed for... and I showed up and had minutes to rehearse it, and it was really difficult for me to shoot with the old style gunslinger guns because I have tiny hands and the guns are really large and heavy.
"This was more action-heavy for me. The action was more intricate than in previous movies that I've done," says the actress, who recently got married to actor Brian Austin Green.
And what about having to wear a corset? "I loved the corset. When I showed up for camera tests, everyone thought I was in pain or I was hurting or something was wrong with me because my waist was so small. But I enjoyed it and I wish they would come back in style," she laughs.
Jonah Hex is a movie steeped in myth and legend, so the question that arises is whether the film-makers were historically accurate about what women of the day wore at that time? "Well, I'm not the person to ask, but I would assume so," says Fox.
As we know, adapting a comic book series into a film is not very easy, especially when it concerns a romantic relationship and Fox and Brolin had to build up a back-story for her character.
"Well, Josh and I had a conversation about what their past relationship could have been and why she would be so dedicated and so in love with someone who sort of treated her the way that he did and wasn't able to love. And we came up with a back-story about things that had happened and the reason why she was so loyal and just hurt for him so badly," she says.
Fox is also credited to have brought something real and convincing to this character. How did she avoid the stereotypical? "I felt like it was an amazing opportunity for me to be involved in a project with Josh Brolin and with John Malkovich and with Michael Fassbender, with all these incredible actors who were coming in to make this movie and I just wanted to be a part of it any way that I could. I don't really feel like she's that stereotypical. It's something completely different than anything I've done and no one can accuse me of doing the same thing twice, which I'm proud of," she says.
When you are dealing with an adaptation that already has a fan base, it's often hard to stay true while making it your own. But Fox says it's impossible to please the hardcore comic book fans no matter what you do. "Because I'm a Lord of the Rings fan I'll go on the forums and they complain about Frodo eating the Lambas bread outside of Mordor instead of the mines of Moria. And Peter Jackson and company won like thirty-something Oscars for that movie," she laughs.
The actress says it's difficult to focus on pleasing them completely because you'll never win and then you're excluding a whole other world of people who weren't aware of the comic in the first place. "So, I think you have to take some sort of liberties to make it into a live action film or it wouldn't work," she says.
On the personal front, Fox is doing great too. The beauty married Austin Green in an intimate sunset ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort in Hawaii in June. The actors have had a turbulent past, since they first started dating in 2004 when 18-year-old Megan was cast on sitcom Hope & Faith, but they split in February 2009 after a two-year engagement, and finally married in June 2010.
Earlier this year, Megan said in an interview with Us magazine, "We are just even more committed to each other and we always have been. I am more in love with him now than I was in the beginning."
Fox will be seen next in the independent drama Passion Play, opposite Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray. Additionally, Fox is serving as producer on the live-action feature film adaptation of Fathom, in which she will also star.
the eminem connection
There's no official word, but strong rumours suggest that Megan Fox is teaming up with Lost star Dominic Monaghan for Eminem and Rihanna's music video.
According to celebrity websites, Fox and Monaghan were on the set of the Love the Way You Lie video to shoot their sequences. Their roles are apparently inspired by Eminem's relationship with ex-wife Kim (they married and divorced twice!). Things start off with an intimate scene between Megan and Dominic. Then they fight, but have a happy ending.
Video director Joseph Kahn had recently twittered that he was shooting the video. Earlier, he posted, "Paparazzi stop trying to ruin my shots. Thank you."
