Govinda is back with his trademark comedy, teaming up with another versatile Bollywood comedian Rajpal Yadav in the comic caper Chal Chala Chal. The film is suddenly seeing the day of light after many years. The film's supporting cast looks formidable and comprises Om Puri, Murli Sharma, Manoj Joshi and Asrani, while Reema Sen plays the lead heroine.

The plot

Deepak (Govinda) is a simpleton who switches jobs as he does not want to succumb to the corrupt system that exists everywhere. His father, Omkarnathji, the ex-principal of a private school, wins a court case against the school and is given a bus as compensation.

Acting on his father's advice, Deepak decides to start a transport business despite pressure from his family members to sell the bus. Deepak's best friend Sundar (Yadav) decides to invest in the bus, which requires heavy repairs. There begins the roller-coaster ride where Deepak ends up getting harassed by almost everyone. An accident injures a lady commuter Payal (Reema Sen), who begins to exort money from Deepak. The film's set-up is a typical Priyadarshan comic entertainer.

Talented men

Govinda's impeccable comic timing is unquestionable and many times he has lifted an entire film with his performance. Once again the humour of Chal Chala Chal will depend on Govinda's histrionics and how well the humorous sequence is written.
Yadav will play a key role in keeping the audience amused as he will share the screen with one of his screen idols. "It is an honour to act with Govinda, who is one of the best Indian actors with immense comic talent. I have worked with him in Bhagam Bhag and Partner, and hope Chal Chala Chal also works for us," says Yadav.

The film will rely more on the chemistry between the two men rather than the onscreen couple - Govinda and Sen. The film has some outdated music composed by Anu Malik, Anand Raj Anand and Sunil Jha and that doesn't help the film's cause.
