Chennai: The trailer of Rajnikanth and Deepika Padukone-starrer Tamil period-drama ‘Kochadaiyaan’ will be unveiled at the forthcoming Cannes International Film Festival in May. The Tamil superstar will be present at the event.

“We will launch the trailer of ‘Kochadaiyaan’ at the Cannes film festival,” Amita Naidu, vice-president, PR Eros, said.

Directed by Soundarya Ashwin, Rajnikanth’s daughter, the film is India’s first movie filmed in motion-capture technology, along the lines of ‘Avatar’ and ‘Tin Tin’.

‘Kochadaiyaan’ also features Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, and R. Sarath Kumar. It is jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment.

The film’s post-production work is currently under way.

The Cannes Film Fest is scheduled between May 15 and May 26.

Besides Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan will be present at the event to promote his Hollywood film ‘The Great Gatsby’.
