Selena Gomez break made her reconnect with life

Selena Gomez’s three-month break from the spotlight last year helped her reconnect with real life, says the singer’s mother, Mandy Teefey.

Last week, Gomez looked radiant in an orange dress by fashion designer Oscar De La Renta at the premiere of series 13 Reasons Why. She is an executive producer for the young adult series on Netflix.

When asked about Gomez, Teefey: “She looks like the sun. I was like, ‘[You’re] a little sun’. I think it was actually [from] taking a break.”

Teefey said that Gomez’s break from the pressure of fame let her reconnect with her roots.

“You asked what it is [like] to feel like you’re in this world. We’re in a bubble. It’s not a real world. You don’t really realise it until you go out of this bubble and you’re like, ‘Oh, OK’,” she added.
