Actress makes allegation in series of Twitter posts in which she claims a lawyer said she would ‘never win’ a case against her abuser

Grindhouse actor Rose McGowan has said she was raped by an unnamed “studio head” and that a lawyer advised her she “would never win” a criminal case.
Tweeting under the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport, McGowan started a series of posts suggesting that “because I’d done a sex scene in a film”, any prospective legal action would fail.
McGowan also wrote that her “ex” had “sold our movie to my rapist”.
McGowan has previously alluded to her sexual assault, suggesting in a 2015 interview with Buzzfeed that discussed the accusations of rape against Bill Cosby, that “it’s happened to me”. In September she also responded to Perez Hilton, writing: “I know what rape is.”
