A star-studded memorial to film legend Richard Attenborough has been held in the majestic quarters of Westminster Abbey in central London.

The actor and Oscar-winning director died in August last year.

His brother, acclaimed television host David Attenborough, was joined on Tuesday by actors Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, John Hurt, the model Twiggy and others.

“It was brilliant. So beautiful,” Caine said after the hour-long event. Dench called the memorial “absolutely perfect”.
