Dubai: Michelle Trachtenberg, widely recognised for her role as Georgina Sparks on ‘Gossip Girl,’ has passed away at the age of 39.
She was found unresponsive in her New York City apartment at One Columbus Place just after 8am on Wednesday by her mother, ABC News reported, citing police sources. The report also revealed that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and may have experienced complications. While her death is believed to be from natural causes, an autopsy is pending, and no foul play is suspected.
Trachtenberg began her career at just three years old, playing Nona Mecklenberg on Nickelodeon’s 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete'. She later starred as the title character in the 1996 film 'Harriet the Spy' and gained widespread recognition for her roles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Gossip Girl'.
