Previous recipients of the award include Naomi Watts and Amy Adams

The Costume Designers Guild announced today that actress Cate Blanchett will be honoured with an award at the group’s annual awards gala.
Blanchett is set to receive the Lacoste Spotlight Award — the French luxury brand is the event’s long-time presenting sponsor — a crocodile-shaped piece of crystal that honours “an actor whose talent and career personify an enduring commitment to excellence, including a special awareness of the role and importance of costume design.” Previous recipients of the award include Naomi Watts (who was honoured at the 2015 gala), Amy Adams (in 2014), Anne Hathaway (2013) and Kate Beckinsale (2012).
The 18th Costume Designers Guild Awards, scheduled to take place on February 23 at the Beverly Hilton, will hand out awards for outstanding costume design in seven categories as well as a handful of honorary recognitions.
