Govinda's lawyer opens up on his Bollywood star client's divorce rumours

Dubai: A day after the news of an alleged split between Govinda and his Sunita Ahuja spread like wildfire, the actor’s lawyer has set the record straight, assuring fans that the couple is still together.

According to India Today, Lalit Bindal, Govinda’s legal counsel and family friend, claimed Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago, but the matter has since been resolved.

In the same conversation, the couple worked through their issues and reconciled. He emphasised that their relationship remains intact, highlighting their recent New Year trip to Nepal, where they performed a puja at Pashupatinath Temple together.

“Such things happen between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together,” he claimed.

Addressing rumors that Govinda and Sunita are living separately, Bindal dismissed the claims, explaining that the actor purchased a bungalow during his tenure as an MP for official use.

“It’s located right opposite the flat where they have lived since their marriage. He sometimes stays there for meetings or even overnight, but the couple continues to stay together,” he clarified.

Bindal also pointed out that Sunita’s remarks from podcasts and public events have been taken out of context to fuel speculation. In a few interviews, his wife was seen and heard making statements about their marriage and how his valentine will always be his work.

Bindal called out the selective misinterpretation of her statements, stressing that the couple remains strong and no divorce is happening.

Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 and have been together for over three decades. They have two children.
