Hit Malayalam film God’s Own Country has been cleared by the UAE’s censor board for release this Thursday.

The film had been due to release on June 5, but was put under review by the board due to the content of some scenes.

In God’s Own Country, Manu (Faasil), an expatriate in Dubai, goes to Kerala to collect blood money so he can secure his wife’s release from a UAE prison. Faasil is a star of Malayalam-language cinema, which is made in India’s southern state of Kerala.

Juma Obaid Al Leem, the director of media content tracking at the National Media Council, the authority tasked with approving films in the UAE, told tabloid! on Monday that the film was now cleared to release, although he did not say whether any scenes had been cut.
