The couple gave each other heartfelt shoutouts in their speeches, too

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin—yes, the real-life Crash Landing on You couple fans have collectively worshipped since 2019—just rewrote Korean award show history in the most cinematic way possible. At the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, the duo became the first married couple ever to take home Best Actor and Best Actress in the same year. During their speeches, both gave heartfelt shoutouts to each other. Hyun Bin said, "To my wife, Ye-jin, who is such a source of strength simply by existing — I want to say I love you, and thank you."
Son Ye-jin, who won the award for No Other Choice, shared, "I want to share this joy with the two men I love most, Hyun Bin and our son, Kim Woo-jin."
The pair snagged Best Actress and Best Actor for their performances in No Other Choice and Harbin, and the victory came with a bonus plot twist none of us saw coming. Following this, Son Ye-jin finally did the unthinkable… she revealed Hyun Bin’s face on Instagram.
For years, fans have joked about Ye-jin’s habit of strategically covering her husband’s face with emojis in every couple photo—despite everyone on the planet knowing exactly who was behind the stickers. It became a beloved running gag: the internet knows it’s Hyun Bin, but Ye Jin says emoji only.
But their historic double win at the Blue Dragon Film Awards clearly called for a celebration. In a moment that felt like a rom-com finale, she ditched the emojis and posted a full, unobstructed photo of Hyun Bin—just like she used to.
Their on-screen journey began in 2017 with The Negotiation. While the thriller put them in tense, dramatic scenarios, off-camera it was all playful bickering, Instagram cameos, and cheeky chemistry. Ironically, in the few seconds they shared on-screen—most of Ye-jin’s scenes involved negotiating with Hyun Bin remotely—the sparks were undeniable. Fans noticed immediately. Behind-the-scenes clips of their lighthearted moments only fueled the excitement, and the BinJin ship set sail officially when the film surpassed a million viewers just a week after its 2018 release. That Chuseok, they celebrated together, hinting that something special was brewing beyond the camera.
In 2019, Hyun Bin told Esquire Korea that he hoped to work with Ye-jin again—or more poetically, that he “wished to breathe the same air as her.” That wish came true later that year with Crash Landing On You, the romantic drama inspired by a real 2008 incident. The show became an international sensation, and naturally, dating rumors erupted. By New Year’s Day 2021, it was confirmed: BinJin was real, having started dating in March 2020.
Ye-jin made it Instagram official with a heartfelt post, calling Hyun Bin “a good person” and promising to “tend to the relationship with care.” Their love story quickly escalated to wedding bells: they announced their engagement on February 10, 2022, with Ye-jin sharing a photo of a tiny wedding dress, captioned, “I found someone to spend the rest of my life with. Yes… it’s him.” A month later, they tied the knot, and today, in 2025, the couple is happily married with a son, cementing their place as one of Korea’s most beloved power couples.
