Actress and singer says she loves juggling between recording and acting
Actress and singer Sarah-Jane Dias wants to sing playback for Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
“I would love to do playback for Deepika or Priyanka. Priyanka for sure because she has a heavy and husky voice like mine. Deepika maybe because I like the kind of work [she] does,” the 31-year-old actress said.
Dias, who released her first single Forgot To Be Me earlier this year and recently performed at the India Bridal Fashion Week, said she loves being an all rounder.
“I love juggling between recording and acting. I also do live performances. People tell me to concentrate on only one thing and I [think], ‘Why should I do that?’ I think I should be doing as many things as I want. I manage it well. When I am shooting for a film, I don’t work on music and vice versa.”
While the actress will release her next single in a couple of months, she has her plate full with acting assignments.
Her upcoming projects include Zubaan opposite Vicky Kaushal, an international film The Angry Indian Goddesses and a short film.
She plays a singer in Zubaan and while the actress has not sung in the film, she will be performing at the promotions for the movie.
“The taglines say, ‘Let music set you free’ or ‘Find yourself through music’. I am kind of a personification of music in the film.
“I will be singing for all the promotional activities of the film. So, all the live singing I will do.”
