Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been named one of the presenters for the 88th Academy Awards this year, the event’s official website announced on Monday.
Chopra, who has won praise for her performance in American TV series Quantico, is one of the 13 people who will present the awards.
“Looking forward @TheAcademy !! This will be an insaaaane night!” the actress tweeted. She thanked well-wishers on Twitter, adding “Now the hunt for the perfect dress begins!!!”
Actress Dia Mirza summed up Chopra’s big move from ruling the Indian screen to international success. “That little girl with big dreams is going places ߒ? @priyankachopra what an incredible start to this year it’s been!”
Chopra presented an award at the Screen Actors Guild awards on Sunday, where she gave Kevin Spacey the Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series prize for House of Cards.
Chopra herself was on the receiving end of a US award when she took home the fan-voted People’s Choice Award for Favourite Actress in a New TV Series on January 6.
Other Oscar presenters include Steve Carell, Quincy Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Jared Leto, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, J.K. Simmons, Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon.
