The Priyanka Chopra-starrer biopic’s first look was unveiled via two posters last week

Priyanka Chopra-starrer Mary Kom, based on the life of Indian Olympian boxer M.C. Mary Kom, will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the organisers announced on Tuesday.
The 39th Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 4 to 14.
“Indian star Priyanka Chopra transforms herself to play Mary Kom, a world champion in women’s boxing. From a traditional village life in remote Manipur to high stakes bouts in India and around the world, this is a remarkable story of triumph. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF,” said a statement from the organisers.
Directed by Omung Kumar, Mary Kom was made with the support of the five-time World Champion boxer. Chopra spent time with Kom to understand the nuances, stance and style of a boxer.
The film’s first look was unveiled via two posters last week. The movie is slated for theatrical release on October 2.
