For the K-drama aficionados: Love takes many forms. It could be Hyun Bin’s Captain Ri almost sacrificing his life several times for Son Ye-jin and crossing over from North Korea to South Korea, or it could just be quiet, calming declarations, or it could just be quiet, calming declarations, like those between Im Si-wan’s Ki Seon-gyeom and Shin Se-kyung’s Oh Mi-joo in Run On. So, for this Valentine’s Day, take your pick from our list and see which K-Drama really suits your romantic vibe.

Run On

A healing, moving drama of two people trying to find themselves, Run On tells the story of a former athlete and an interpreter. The beauty of this show is that love is reflected in gestures, comforting words, promises and looking after each other. The romance isn’t glamorous and neither is it meant to be, it’s in Gyeom telling Mi-joo simply, “I’m just here to see you” or pulling the curtain in the hospital to give her some privacy. It also teaches you about self-love, as a wise Mi-joo says, to be together, you need to be enough on your own, too.

Soundtrack#1

Friends to lovers, is a popular trope and this four-episode series does justice to it. Park Hyung-sik and Han So-hee play two close friends, who have known each other for two decades, and now collaborate music for each other. A heartwarming, touching romance with much comedy, it shows how they finally cross over from friendship to romance without the fear of losing each other.
