UAE voted as chair of Financial Committee of International Parliamentary Union

Hanoi: The Financial Committee of the International Parliamentary Union, IPU, has elected Rashid Mohammad Al Shareqi, a representative of Arab group at the Executive Committee, and member of the Federal National Council, FNC, as its Chairman. The UAE Parliamentary Group, led by Rashid Al Shareqi, yesterday participated in a meeting of the Sub-Committee for Financial Affairs which is currently being held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

During the meeting, the committee discussed the financial results of 2014, the committee’s financial matters, voluntary contributions to the budget, and preparations for the 2016 budget. Al Shareqi stressed the importance of careful planning of financial matters to ensure that the committee is able to implement its planned activities and programmes without being affected by the global economic situation.
