Taqa aware of former CEO's lawsuit

Dubai: The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) on Tuesday said it was aware of a legal complaint and demand for a jury trial filed in the US by former chief executive Peter Barker-Homek.

A spokesperson for the company said in a statement that Taqa "takes any challenge to its reputation extremely seriously and will vigorously defend itself and the individuals named against the spurious allegations made in the filing".

The statement didn't give further details about the nature of the legal case but added that the company would "respond to the filing in due course through the appropriate legal channels".

Taqa issued a statement on October 16 that Barker-Homek had stepped down and been replaced by the company's former Deputy General Manager and General Counsel Carl Sheldon. At the time Barker-Homek said he "decided to pursue other career ambitions".
