The current generation of tech geeks demand efficiency and multiple offerings from a single device. Why can't our refrigerators come equipped with speakers and wireless connectivity options? Why can't I speak to my kettle the same way I speak to my xbox? "Kettle?" *beep* "Hot water!" *beep* "Umm, Thanks."

Manufacturers across the world have had enough of our constant whining and started releasing cross-breeds. Many make our lives easier, many make our lives interesting and many make no sense at all. Slotting neatly into the second category, Nikon decided that it was high time they meet the demand for duality in the imaging department and bestowed projector cameras on the human race. Humanity received it with interest and proceeded to cover every flat surface around them with their captured memories — at least I did.

Bring forth the S1200pj, Nikon's third-gen, projector-equipped compact digital camera. The camera is available in a refined black and a bright pink with a 5x optical zoom lens. You have your latest gadgets, and then you have your latest gadgets with iPhone compatibility. The Nikon can connect with your iPhone, iPad or iPod and project media directly from your device with the help of a cable. Thank you, Nikon.

The camera's buttons are illuminated for when you insist on showing off your projector in a darkened room to your tech-illiterate acquaintances, to wow them further, Nikon have thrown in a wireless remote as well as a built-in stand that can be tilted for optimal viewing pleasure. The projected-image dimension ranges from a 'these-are-private' five inches to a 'somebody-notice-me-now' 60 inches.

This is a must-have device if you consider yourself a tech leader. Its price might mildly offend average point-and-shoot camera customers, but the rest of us out there will have to admit — this is one for the collection.
