Qatar's economy should fare better this year

Dubai : Qatar's economy will perform better this year than in 2009 and its financial position is good, the state's central bank chief was quoted as saying yesterday.

The world's largest natural gas exporter is expected to outperform the oil region's key players — Saudi Arabia and the UAE — this year due to massive expansion of its gas facilities.

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Saud Al Thani said he expected the 2010 financial year to be better than 2009, according to media.
