Warning against raising green concrete prices

Dubai: Dubai Municipality said switching to eco-friendly concrete is no excuse to raise construction costs. The statement follows a meeting with ready-mix concrete plants and cement factories. The civic body earlier said only environment-friendly concrete will be allowed in construction. During the meeting, officials reiterated ‘green’ concrete was available locally in sufficient supply and urged developers not to accept price hike demands from contractors. The buildings department added that all stakeholders have been informed of the new rules and price advisory.
