Dubai: The death of Howard Butch Kerzner, CEO of resort and casino operator Kerzner International Holdings, will not have an adverse impact on the company's relationship with Dubai-based investment firm Istithmar, officials said.

Kerzner, 42, son of Kerzner International chairman Sol Kerzner, was killed on Wednesday in a helicopter crash in the Dominican Republic.

He was instrumental in developing a strong relationship with Istithmar, which has a 50 per cent stake in the $1.5-billion Atlantis resort project on the Palm Jumeirah.

The Dubai company also has a stake in Kerzner group, owner and operator of One&Only luxury resorts.
