Abu Dhabi's tallest tower named after Dubai's Shaikh Mohammad

Abu Dhabi: The tallest building in Abu Dhabi formerly known as the World Trade Centre has been named after Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The new name "Burj Mohammed Bin Rashed" was announced at the official inauguration of the tower and the adjacent mall on Monday.

The inauguration was attended by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; and Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman on the Abu Dhabi Economic Department.

The ceremony was also attended by the officials from the tower’s developer, Aldar Properties, including chief executive officer, Mohammed Al Mubarak.

The tower, which stands at 382 metres high, includes 474 residential units set on 92 floors.

The development will also see the opening of the Courtyard Marriott Hotel towards the end of this year.
