Dubai: Ratings agency Moody’s on Thursday changed the outlook of Qatari firm Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas to negative from stable.

In a statement, Moody’s said the negative outlook reflects “the negative outlook on Qatar’s sovereign rating.”

It added that while it understands that RasGas II-3 operations have not been materially impacted by the Qatari rift with Arab countries, operating and transportation costs could be adversely impacted by an escalation of the dispute. Moody’s also affirmed the A1 guaranteed senior secured debt ratings of Ras Laffan Gas.
